  • Konstantinas Pileckas - Project Leader

K. Pileckas is already almost 40 years working on the theory of elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations, in particular on the theory of the Navier-Stokes equations describing the motion of a viscous incompressible fluid.  He has published more than 100 papers in international per-reviewed journals, was giving invited talks at many international conferences, and was invited as the visiting professor to different world scientific centers.   K. Pileckas was the principal investigator of the joint project between Vilnius and Zurich universities “Asymptotic problems and applications” awarded by the Swiss-Lithuanian program “Research and Development” (budget about 650 000 Euro, 2012-2016) which was successfully finished in 2016.

  • Grigory Panasenko

G. Panasenko is well known specialist in the theory of partial differential equations, applied mathematics and applications to the mechanics of composite materials, fluid mechanics and mathematical modelling in biology, and in particular the blood flow modelling.  His research has an important international aspect. The method of partial asymptotic decomposition of a domain proposed by G. Panasenko reduces the tremendous computational costs for three-dimensional models and is extremely important studying the blood circulation problems.

  • Kristina Kaulakytė

K. Kaulakytė is working on the theory of Navier-Stokes equations more than 7 years. She defended her PhD thesis on similar topics, participated in two successful scientific projects, has published a series of papers on the theory of Navier-Stokes equations in infinite domains. K. Kaulakytė has spent one year doing research as a postdoc fellow at Zurich University.

  • Olga Štikonienė

O. Štikonienė is a specialist in numerical methods for partial differential equations. She is responsible for the numerical implementation of new algorithms.
